Countries of Valdidentro
Isolaccia, Premadio, Pedenosso, Semogo are part of the town of Valdidentro.
In these places the ancient traditions of the mountain are still alive among the local population and the tourist who comes to visit is definitely infected.
Separated only by short stretches of road, the surroundings, however, have its own characteristics, they are all surrounded by greenery and nature of the area of the Stelvio National Park.
The mountains of Valdidentro
Alpine views of Validentro is among the richest natural resources in Alta Valtellina.
The famous Cima Piazzi, with its 3439m of altitude, whose image dominates the label of a popular mineral water, and the glacier stands impressively on Isolaccia and other villages, but many other important points deserve attention: St. Columban, Dosdè, Monte Masucci, on which lie the ski area of St. Columban and Oga-Valdidentro.
Val Alpisella born the Adda river, inlet and outlet of the two reservoirs Cancano and St. James (a pool of 165 million cubic meters), whose waters are being exploited by Premadio hydroelectric power plant that provides electricity to most (???) of the Lombardy region by means of AEM SpA
Lakes Lazzeri Val Fraele, are also a great tourist attraction, especially during the summer, the beauty of their landscape. Here the hiking trails are very many, from simple to more challenging.
We can not forget the Val Viola and Cima Viola, at an altitude of 3374m, beautiful excursion destinations on foot, by jeep, or, better yet, mountain biking.
Stelvio National Park
The Stelvio National Park is a veritable natural treasure for the variety of alpine flora and fauna present.
Established in 1935 and subsequently enlarged, extends between the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano and the Region of Lombardy and along with the Parc Naziunal Engadine in Switzerland is an extremely valuable asset within the Central Alps.
The purpose of the park are nature conservation, landscape protection, information and environmental education, scientific research and use tourist office.
The baths of Bormio
Relaxation, health and wellness are within reach thanks to the nearby thermal baths of Bormio.
Nine thermal springs and two different centers that use them for aesthetic purposes and healing.
In the center of the plant in Bormio Spa with Olympic pool and curative treatments for various diseases: disorders of the respiratory, digestive, locomotor, skin etc..
3 km from Bormio, near Bagni Vecchi, the eponymous building, partly dating from the tenth century, was recently restored and renovated and offers a beautiful wellness spa with courses that include a panoramic outdoor swimming pool, indoor pool, saunas and steam baths in natural caves carved into the mountain.
